March 2025: Fewer hoops, faster reconciliation

This month’s updates center around transparency and efficiency (your accountant’s dream duo). We’re improving how you track refunds, alerting you to issues before they snowball, and expanding tax support across platforms and currencies. Whether you manage one entity or many, March brings the visibility and control you’ve been asking for.

Here’s what’s new this month (and ICYMI, here’s the February edition).

💸 Square house account refunds, now more trackable

We’ve made it easier to track Square house account refunds. These are now captured as separate line items so you can map and reconcile them cleanly in your accounting platform. No more guessing where those refunds went.

🚨 One dashboard for failed journal entries

When journal entries fail, it can throw off your books without you even knowing. Now, you’ll get centralized Failed Journal Entry Notifications, automated alerts so you can quickly pinpoint and fix the issue. It’s especially helpful for multi-entity setups. You’ll see all failed entries across every entity in one view.

🌍 MindBody sales tax support outside the U.S.

If you use MindBody to manage sales tax and operate outside the U.S., we’ve got great news. Bookkeep now supports posting MindBody sales tax to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero for international locations, including Canada and VAT-registered countries.

Here’s what’s new:

QuickBooks Online Canada: You can automatically post MindBody sales tax using Canadian GST/HST and provincial tax codes.

QuickBooks Online VAT: Bookkeep supports posting sales tax to VAT codes when syncing MindBody data to QBO UK and other VAT-compliant regions.

🔎 Better tracking for multi-currency Shopify payouts

For Advanced and Plus Shopify plans, you can add up to eight bank accounts in different currencies. Bookkeep now better supports payouts, refunds, and chargebacks in multiple currencies, helping you avoid exchange fees and keep reconciliation clean.

For example, if you run a global store and receive payouts in USA and CAD, you can connect each currency to its respective account. Bookkeep will match each payout and fee to the correct currency so you avoid conversion surprises and get clearer financial reports.
