Shopify Accounting: Multiple Bank Accounts and Payouts in Multiple Currencies
Shopify enables you to sell internationally and connect multiple bank accounts for different currencies. For example, a business selling in Canada and the United States can connect two bank accounts and receive payouts in CAD and USD. Orders in CAD are routed to your CAD bank account, and orders in USD are paid out to your USD bank account.
Bookkeep supports this feature by allowing separate chart of accounts mappings for each bank account, as shown below (a chart of account mapping for the Bank of Montreal and another for Fifth Third Bank).
For each deposit or payout from Shopify, Bookkeep checks the bank account the deposit is routed to and posts it to the correct chart of accounts mapping. This streamlines your Shopify accounting process and ensures that deposits post to the correct bank accounts in your accounting platform.
If your Shopify store uses this advanced payout feature, please contact [email protected] to have it enabled.
